Is Travel The Real Secret To Extra Yards Off The Tee?

ENJOY GOLF MORE & PLAY SMARTER

Hi Reader,

Want to add 20+ yards to your drives without changing your swing? You might not need a new driver—just a plane ticket.

It turns out that where you play has a huge impact on how far your golf ball travels.

And some fun data we came across recently from Arccos Golf revealed that golfers in high-altitude states like Utah, Colorado, and Nevada hit it the longest, while those in Florida and other sea-level locations struggle to keep up.

Breaking Down The States Where Golfers Hit It Farthest

According to the numbers, the longest hitters come from:
🥇 Utah – 267 yards avg. total drive
🥈 Colorado – 264 yards avg. total drive
🥉 Nevada – 263 yards avg. total drive

Meanwhile, the shortest average drives were recorded in:
Florida – 242 yards
Delaware – 243 yards
South Carolina – 245 yards

The Science Behind It

💨 High Altitude = Less Air Resistance → More carry distance.
🌡️ Warmer Temps = Less Air Density → Slightly longer ball flight.
🏜️ Firm, Dry Fairways = More Roll → Extra yards after landing.

At 5,000 feet above sea level, the average male amateur golfer sees a 6% increase in carry distance, according to Trackman. That’s 15 extra yards on a 250-yard drive!

So if you want to feel like a long-drive champion for a weekend, the message seems to be simple - take your game to the mountains.

But if you find yourself teeing it up in Florida or South Carolina and your distances seem to shrink—don’t panic. It’s not your swing… it’s physics!

With the new golf season fast approaching in the northern hemisphere, my quest for extra distance continues.

After making a couple of key changes that have already had a big impact on my driving, I’m now putting the Stack System to the test to see if I can squeeze out even more swing speed.

Now I'm in my late 40s I’ll admit I’m a bit cautious about injuries, but I’m excited to see if this system can make a real difference. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes—and whether it’s worth the hype!

And finally and most importantly we hope you are enjoying your golf!

Thanks again for being part of our growing community and we hope you are starting to look forward to the upcoming season as much as we are!

Play and practice well 👍

ENJOY GOLF MORE & PLAY SMARTER Hi Reader, 🏌️♂️ Ever wondered if you should actually be swinging harder off the tee? I'll be honest – I used to be one of those golfers who'd consistently grab a 3-wood "for accuracy" on tight holes. You know the scenario. Standing there thinking I'm being smart choosing accuracy over distance and then hitting it into the deep rough or bunker anyway! Turns out, the data suggests I was making a classic mistake the vast majority of the time. 📊 The Numbers Don't...
